How often does an invoice make you smile? I received beautiful, hand-written thank you note from La Bella Cuisine, making a shot-in-the-dark, Froogle-driven purchase into something much more.

La Bella Cuisine has a typical (i.e. horrible) e-commerce site with bad design, not enough product information, and is probably plugged into a faceless cookie-cutter e-commerce provider. Their website is probably very secondary to their store in Allentown, PA. But they got one thing right that almost every e-commerce site gets wrong: they care. You can tell in the site copy and in this thoughtful note that they enjoy their business.
